Husband accused of violating restraining order over Facebook

(WMC-TV) - A Mid-South man is accused of stalking his estranged wife after he violated a restraining order without coming near her.

Jerimale Williams is accused of sending five pages of messages to his wife on Facebook.  He is charged with stalking and violating the protection order.

"Even if it's, you know, 'I'm sorry that this happened,' you're not allowed to have contact with the victim in the case," said defense attorney Mike Working.

Working is not involved in the case, but he said electronic communications may become commonplace as evidence in courtrooms.

"E-mails count, texting counts, Facebook posts count, all of it," said Working.  "Anything that you say can and will be used against you.  That's not necessarily just what you say to the police, it's what you say to the world."
