(WMC-TV) - During Saturday's win against Austin Peay, Tigers fans reacted to a Wall Street Journal article that listed the team as the country's worst.
"I can see that the Wall Street Journal would say that," said Tigers fan Bret Bilbry. "Right now I'd probably think they're the worst team in the country, too. They're the laughing stock of college football, which is unfortunate."
The Tigers opened the season with a loss to Mississippi State and were embarrassed last week by a 47-3 loss at Arkansas State. They defeated Austin Peay 27-6 Saturday.
"Maybe they just had a rough season or whatever, but I think if they just try, they'll be good," said Austin Peay fan Angela Couch.
While Larry Porter has only been coaching the team for the past two seasons, some fans said they will continue to stand by him and the team.
The Tigers will now open their Conference USA schedule next Saturday against SMU.
