New 'Elvis' box set offers glimpse at life before fame

(WMC-TV) - A brand new interview with Elvis Presley has been released, offering a rare glimpse into the icon's life before he made it big.

The new Presley box set, 'Young Man With the Big Beat,' features the singer's songs from 1956, but for fans and historians who can't get enough Elvis, the most remarkable part of the package will more likely be the never-before-released interviews where he discusses life, love and all his shiny cars.

"I think it's exciting to know him at a younger age, because we know him as an older entertainer, said Toy Bray of Texas.

In 1956, Elvis was 21-years-old. He dreamed of falling in love and starting a family, not knowing that life would be here in Memphis.

"Maybe some day I'm going to have a home and a family of my own, and I'm not going to budge from it," said Elvis back in 1956.

Now, 55 years later, it's hard to believe there was a day Elvis wasn't known as the king.

The new 5 disk set will be released beginning September 27th.
