Olive Branch man gunned down during argument

(WMC-TV) – A 26-year-old man was shot to death Friday night in Olive Branch, investigators said.

Rodrick Lydell Akins was found just before Midnight laying in the driveway a home in the 10500 block of Lafayette Drive, suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to investigators, the shooting happened after Akins and two other males approached the address and got into an argument with the homeowner, 48-year-old Leo Mays.

During the argument, Mays pulled a gun on Akins and shot him.

Police arrested Mays the next day in Frasier, and charged him with murder.  Mays is currently being held on $1,000,000 bond.

Investigators have not said what the men were arguing about.
