(WMC-TV) - A man hired to work with children stands accused of sexually assaulting at least three of them, and his bishop says the suspect told him there are more victims.
Anthony Webster is a former employee of Lifetime Fitness in Collierville. Neither Webster nor his attorney had anything to say as they walked out of a Collierville court Thursday morning.
"We presented enough evidence to show the crime was committed in Collierville and the defendant probably committed it," said prosecutor Chris Nearn.
Judge William Craig Hall didn't allow cameras inside court because three of Webster's alleged victims - ages seven, eight and nine - testified against him.
"I thought the young ladies did great," Nearn said. "They were strong. I am proud of all of them."
Webster's pastor also testified, saying that in a confession to him, Webster admitted there were more than three victims.
"Obviously, he told his Bishop he'd done this to ten children and we have three," Nearn said. 'There's potentially other cases out there, one would assume."
The 27-year-old is charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery. He worked in the popular day care center at Lifetime Fitness' Collierville location.
Police say that's where the alleged incidents happened. Collierville police tracked down surveillance video of one incident that shows Webster place a girl on a ledge.
"He's got a monitor on so he's being monitored all time so we know where he is," Nearn said.
Anthony Webster is to remain outside Collierville town limits until the case is over. Prosecutors did not comment on when Webster's case would go before the Grand Jury.
Webster was fired from Lifetime Fitness after the first abuse report was filed with police back in July.
