Priest who gave JFK eulogy dies at 98

NEW ORLEANS (CNN/WDSU) - Archbishop Philip Hannan, who delivered the eulogy at the funeral mass for former President John F. Kennedy, has died.

Hannan passed away early Thursday morning at the Chateau de Notre Dame in New Orleans.

He was 98 years old.

Hannan moved to the archdiocesan facility in June after spending months in and out of the hospital for various health problems.

His death Thursday came on the 46th anniversary of his appointment as archbishop of New Orleans.
