Inmate escapes from Memphis work detail

(WMC-TV) - An inmate has escaped while serving on a work detail in downtown Memphis.

Ronnie Jackson, 24, was helping clean the trolley terminal at 547 North Main when he walked away from the building around 1 p.m.

Jackson was serving jail time for domestic violence and burglary.

Witnesses spotted him leaving the terminal in a black Saturn with Oklahoma license plates. He's described as being six-feet-one-inch tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has stars tattooed on his neck, arms and chest. He also has the word "Unknown" tattooed on his chest.

Jackson was wearing a light blue shirt and jeans with the letters "SCDC" stenciled on them.
