(WMC-TV) – Firefighters responded to a two alarm fire Friday afternoon at a warehouse complex near Mathews and Hollywood.

The fire broke out around 3:00 p.m., and quickly burned three North Memphis warehouses to the ground.

Video from Chopper 5 showed an enormous amount of smoke and blaze rising from the complex.  The vacant buildings were reportedly part of an old broom handle factory located near the intersection of Chelsea and Hollywood.

Memphis Fire Department spokesperson Lt. Wayne Cook said over 40 fire department vehicles and 90 emergency workers were dispatched to fight the battle, which was brought under control around 15 minutes after they arrived.

There were no injuries due to the fire.

ATF agents were among those on the scene trying to figure out what started the warehouse fire.

At least one adjacent business was evacuated immediately after the fire started.
