(WMC-TV) - For the first time since his arrest on drunken driving and gun charges, State Rep. Curry Todd of Collierville returned to the Legislature Wednesday.

Todd did not want to talk about his October 11 arrest.

"I'm here to represent my constituents," said Todd.

Todd added he could not talk on the advice of his attorney.  He then walked into his fiscal review committee meeting.

Nashville Police stopped Todd in his SUV near Vanderbilt University and said he was weaving.  Todd, a former Memphis police officer and president of the Memphis Police Association, refused a breathalyzer test.  He had a gun holster between his front seats.

Some Collierville voters said Todd should set a better example.

"If they expect us folks to follow the law, we elect them," said Collierville resident Pam McGinnis.  "We expect them to follow the laws."
