(WMC-TV) - Nearly two dozen handguns may be on the streets after a burglary at a Memphis pawn shop.
The burglary happened last Monday at the Cash America pawn shop at Mendenhall and Winchester. According to police, 18 handguns were among the merchandise stolen.
Wednesday, Memphis police released surveillance video of the suspect for a second time, hoping to drum up information about the burglary.
Investigators said the suspect, who they believe is between 18 and 25-years-old, broke through the front door glass of the store during the robbery.
People who live nearby feel uneasy, knowing the stolen guns may already be out on the streets.
"You've already got crazy people out here," Daria Cole said. "The guns probably don't have permits and are untraceable. That's crazy."
Cash America has contributed an additional $5,000 in potential reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction the suspect.
