(WMC-TV) - Shelby County deputies arrested a fifth man wanted for a brutal, gang rape and robbery Sunday.
Leon Denton surrendered to investigators around 10:30 Friday morning. He told deputies he was tired of hiding from them, but also insisted he didn't do anything wrong, according to Chip Washington, spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
Four others, Brian Norwood, Antonio Howard, Devan Denton and 16-year-old James Kerrigan have also been charged for attacking three women in the 3000 block of Mt. Moriah.
"Apparently, they had met them earlier in the night and had invited them over and things went bad from there," said Karen Rudolph, of the Memphis Police Department.
Police say Howard had a gun and after it fell out of his pocket, the five men raped the women at gunpoint. One of the women was also pistol whipped. The men are also accused of stealing a laptop and a television.
