ONTARIO, CA (KCAL/KCBS/CNN) - A group of local business owners played Cupid for some lucky military couples on Oct. 29 by paying for every last detail of their weddings.
Lt. Lashonda Davis of the U.S. Coast Guard participated in the celebrations, marrying her husband in a ceremony that couldn't have fit her budget.
"It takes such a load off," Davis said. "I appreciate it so much."
Dresses, flowers, limos, groom's cars and receptions for 30 were all donated by Ontario, CA businesses.
"We're nobody special, so why would people do this?" asked Alison Bailey, who married Sean, a man who had gone through five combat deployments. "Then I think of all the time my husband spent in Afghanistan and Iraq and he truly deserves to feel special for a day."
