Memphis firefighter’s house catches fire Thursday morning

(WMC-TV) – Shelby County firefighters are trying to figure out what sparked a fire at the home of a Memphis firefighter early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out just before 6 a.m. in the 5300 block of Stephen Forest Cove.

Officials say the homeowner, who is a Memphis firefighter, noticed smoke coming from inside the wall and then the flames started to spread.

He, his wife and daughter were home at the time and all got out safely.

One firefighter suffered minor burns to the face while battling the flames.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
