Brandon Crump and Scooter Mc-Fadgon each scored 20 points to help Tennessee beat Number 23 Vanderbilt 76-to-66. Tennessee claimed the lead midway through the first half and fought off a rally by the Commodores in the final minutes. C.J. Watson had 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for the Volunteers. Scott Hundley and Mario Moore led Vandy with 11 points each. Tennessee is now 10-and-2 overall and 2-and-1 in the S-E-C. Vanderbilt is 12-and-2 and 1-and-2 and has lost two straight since having the school's best start with 12 straight wins. Tennessee led 31-26 at the half. But Vandy trailed just 65-62 with about three minutes left.
