(WMC-TV) - Two Memphis men were arrested Sunday for allegedly operating a dog-fighting ring.
According to police, Lindell Tanner and Charles Cross were arrested after investigators said the apartment's front lawn was used as a dog-fighting ring for four pit bulls.
A neighbor called 911 to tip off police about the ring.
Tanner and Cross were booked into 201 Poplar on $100 bond, charged with misdemeanor cock or animal fighting.
According to court records, the men were "antagonizing and instigating the several brown pit bulldogs to fight using a black and white pit bull dog as bait."
Police found dogs with "fresh injuries consistent with dog fighting."
Both men posted bond, and are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
