(WMC-TV) - A young Memphis rap star is featured in the sequel to one of the biggest animated hits of the past decade.
Happy Feet 2 is the sequel to the Academy Award winning, animated smash hit, and who better to land a role in the film than Memphis' own rising star, Lil' P-Nut?
"Somehow Warner Bros. saw me and I acted for them a little bit, and they were like, 'Wow, we really need this kid in Happy Feet 2,'" he said.
Playing the role of a rapping penguin named Atticus, Lil' P-Nut, whose real name is Benjamin Flores, Jr., says everyone will enjoy the movie.
"The movie is awesome," he said. "I've already seen it, and it's outstanding."
After two recent appearances on the Ellen Degeneres show, Lil' P-Nut has been busy with a new show that will air on the Cartoon Network, produced by Ice-Cube.
And of course he's still rapping.
With his new found fame, 9-year-old Lil' Peanut says he's staying humble and staying focused - but there's one little problem
"A lot of girls - a lot of fans," he said. 'It's kind of stressful, and you know why? Because I got a girlfriend and all these other girls are just rushing up."
Lil' P-Nut performed his new single "Chosen" for the Action News 5 news team, and you can watch that performance in its entirety in the video player on this page.
