(WMC-TV) - An auto accident early Monday morning claimed the life of a Mid-South man. Bradley Wiggins, 25, was killed when he lost control while traveling on Highway 193 in Fayette County.
Filled with emotion, Danielle Beavers, arrived at the scene picking up the pieces from the single vehicle crash killed her close friend.
"It's very hurtful," she said. "He was a very close friend, and everyone loved him."
According to investigators, Wiggins was traveling east on Highway 193 when the accident occurred. While approaching a curve, he lost control of his jeep and struck a utility pole.
Wiggins, authorities said, was not wearing a seat belt. Investigators are still trying to determine if rainy weather played a role in the crash.
"It shows that you should drive safely in the rain no matter who you are," Beavers said. "You can hydroplane and die."
Wiggins, who was the son of Bartlett Fire Chief Terry Wiggins, leaves behind a wife and a young daughter.
"We've known him, my husband and I, since he was 11," Beavers said. "Loved him like a brother. He was his brother basically. He was in our wedding, our kids uncle - he's just a wonderful man."
