Woman, gun toting son try to run over Memphis family

(WMC-TV) - A Memphis mom is charged with trying to run over a woman and her eight children, all while her son sat next to her with a loaded shotgun.

Early Friday morning on Schoolfield, Tamara Harris and her eight children, ages 7 months to 13 years old, were outside on their front lawn when they received a visit from Monique Golden.

"She pulled up and her son jumped out of the van with a rifle," Golden said

After an exchange of words, police say Golden hopped the curb and accelerated her minivan toward Harris and her family.

"I was standing here and my kids were behind me," Harris said.

After the incident, tire marks were still visible near the bushes, cutting through Harris' neighbors yard. Golden was later arrested and charged with 10 counts of aggravated assault.

She posted $40,000 bond.

"It was a miracle that she didn't do nothing to hurt my kids," Harris said.

Golden's 14-year-old son was taken into juvenile custody. Golden was also charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
