Meth ring busted near Lake Cormorant

(WMC-TV) - Authorities in DeSoto County have busted a meth ring. Tuesday, DeSoto County Sheriff Bill Rasco said his deputies were cracking down on crystal meth, along with anyone caught manufacturing the drug.

Their latest bust, Rasco said, involved men, women and unfortunately children. Tuesday, signs of decontamination and abandoned animals were all that remained at a residence in the 7900 block of Austin Road in Lake Cormorant.

"We did go in and make a bust of crystal meth being made," Rasco said.

According to Rasco, neighbors initially tipped off authorities about suspicious activity at the home, and possibly across state lines.

"These three people, who were staying in this house and had other residencies, must have been doing this for quite some time," he said.

Blaise Keaton of Germantown, Jarrett Kidd of Millington, and Summer Replogle of Lake Cormorant are all charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Neighbors, like Krista Watkins, said it was a sad situation because several children live at the home.

"When i found out that it was a meth lab I was like 'really,' because they have kids and I have neighbors and kids who go to my school, and its so close to my school and that's so dangerous," she said.

Watkins feels strongly about parents who put their kids in harms way.

"I feel like they shouldn't have children at all, because they're telling their children that it's ok to sell drugs and do drugs," she said. "That's not right and it's not safe for them."
