Suspect arrested after Cracker Barrel robbery

(WMC-TV) - Police cars and crime scene tape blocked off a Cracker Barrel building after an early Friday morning robbery.

One window was shot out during the early morning robbery.  By lunch, the glass was repaired.

"Nothing is ... surprising this time of year," said Teresa Sugars.

"They said a guy robbed it at 5 o'clock this morning, and then the maintenance guy said there was money flying all around the parking lot," said Tony Jacobs.

The suspect was caught in the neighboring parking lot.

People staying nearby told Action News 5 that a neighboring Red Roof Inn was hit last week.

In the last two months, a man identified as Larry Boyd was seen shoplifting University of Tennessee sportswear and wristwatches from Cracker Barrel Old Country stores.  Deputies also arrested three others for breaking into cars parked at area Cracker Barrels.

"I don't see no sense in trying to rob a restaurant," said Sugars.

One man is in custody.  Police said he has not yet been officially charged.

No one was injured in the robbery.
