(WMC-TV) – Police responded to a robbery early Monday afternoon at the SunTrust Bank at 1136 North Germantown Parkway.
Police are searching for a black male standing six feet tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds, wearing a dark hat and beige coat.
Authorities aren't sure if the suspect was armed, but during the robbery, he implied that he was carrying a gun. After the robbery, the suspect left the bank on foot.
Customers like Paula Billings were shocked by news of the robbery.
"It makes me very nervous that I could have been there," Billings said.
"That's pretty scary, because I was supposed to come there during my lunch," Joy Rogge added.
It seems robbers have been targeting Cordova banks over the last few months. Monday's SunTrust Bank robbery happened in the 1100 block of North Germantown.
In October, a robber targeted the Regions in the 600 block of North Germantown. In November, a robber targeted the Bank of America on the 1500 block of North Germantown.
Customers were not only concerned for themselves, they were also worried about the bank employees.
"I had a cousin that worked at a bank," Billings said. "She was robbed once - that was it. It's terrifying."
