Source: Large amounts of drugs, cash found at Cordova home

(WMC-TV) – A police source told Action News 5 large amounts of marijuana and money were found inside a Cordova home where police impostors shot an eight-year-old girl Tuesday.

"We were shook up about it because our area's a quiet area," said neighbor Bunny Pippin.

Pippin in her family have lived in the area for 23 years.

"We heard about ... six gunshots," said Pippin.

Dozens of squad cars responded to the apparent home invasion three doors down from Pippin's home.  An eight-year-old girl was among at least two people shot as gunfire was exchanged.

Police said neither the girl nor an adult male shot inside the house were critically injured.  One of the police impostors may have been shot as well.

All of the suspects in the home invasion got away.

Initial reports from police said that some amount, or at least evidence, of marijuana and cocaine were found inside the house.

A police spokesperson would not confirm reports that large amounts of drugs and money were found inside the house.  This investigation is ongoing.
