(WMC-TV) - Memphis Grizzlies forward Darrell Arthur left practice Sunday morning with a right Achilles injury.
Arthur will officially be reevaluated Monday, but the Commercial Appeal is reporting he could be lost for the season.
The injury comes as a serious blow to the Grizzlies front court. Arthur had just begun practicing after sitting out with left Achilles soreness.
Last season, the 6-9 Arthur came off the bench for Memphis, averaging 9 points and 4.3 rebounds a game for the Grizzlies.
If Arthur misses the season, the Grizzlies could go the free-agent route to fill the void or open up trade options for O.J. Mayo again.
After turning down a Mayo for Brandon Rush and Josh McRoberts offer from Indiana, the Grizzlies said they would not trade Mayo this season.
