FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – A suspect in the shooting death of a 53-year-old Forrest City man was arrested and arraigned February 13, in addition to being a court-ordered for a psychological examination.

According to Police, 48-year-old Rolando Westbrook, of Haynes, was arrested and arraigned for murder in the first degree in St. Francis County and for the murder of his estranged wife, Tracey Westbrook, of Haynes, in Lee County.

Forrest City Police say these charges came after a double homicide that happened at 7:51 p.m. Dec. 20 on 122 West Sharp Street.

According to police, officers discovered the body of Larry G. Stacy in the front room of his home bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds to abdomen and chest on the night of the shootings.

Later in the investigation, officers say they were able to find Westbrook's car, which was described by witnesses, at his estranged wife's house in Haynes; standoff between Westbrook and police took place.

The Arkansas State Police SWAT Team later found Westbrook inside, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and the body of Tracey Westbrook.

Stacy was immediately taken to the Forrest City Medical Center where he later passed. Westbrook was taken to The Med in Memphis.

"As a result [of the shootings], [Westbrook] has major medical problems that cannot be managed in a county jail," says Forrest City Police Chief E.P. Reynolds. "We are working with the prosecuting attorney's office to get him in a state facility as soon as possible. At this time, there is no indication that he is a threat to the public. We are receiving full cooperation from Rolando Westbrook's family in both of these cases.
