(WMC-TV) - Residents in an Arlington neighborhood said they are not taking any chances after a woman said she was attacked while jogging.

"It's crazy that a neighborhood in Arlington, you wouldn't expect anything like that," said neighbor Bronston Clough.

Investigators said the attack happened at 6:00 a.m. Monday.  It has caught the attention of neighbors.

"I was driving to work and I seen all the cop cars," said neighbor Chris Kehayias.

The victim said she saw a shadow as she was jogging.  She turned around and saw a man running toward her.  She said he hit her in the chest, knocking her to the ground, put his hand over her mouth and tried to drag her away.

The woman said she fought and kicked the men and he ran off.

Deputies arrested St. Roland Jean-Charles, a married man with a child who lives one street over from the woman.

Jean-Charles' attorney, Blake Ballin, wrote in an e-mail, "Mr. Jean-Charles absolutely denies any involvement in this attack and has been devastated and embarrassed by these accusations."

Ballin said Jean-Charles was also jogging at the time.  He pointed out that eyewitness identifications are notoriously unreliable and the woman is mistaken.

People who live in the Arlington neighborhood said they are planning a meeting to discuss the attack.
