Amazon finalizes deal to open 2 centers in Tenn.

(AP) - With Amazon and Tennessee finally in agreement over the collection of sales taxes, the online retailer formally finalized its plans to open two new distribution centers in Murfreesboro and Lebanon that are expected to create 1,300 new jobs.

Seattle-based Amazon.com Inc. agreed to a deal earlier this year to expand its presence in the state, but that would require Amazon to start collecting Tennessee sales taxes in 2014. The retailer already has existing facilities in Hamilton and Bradley counties.

Amazon also announced on Thursday it would be donating $20,000 to the Books from Birth Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides books to preschool children in Tennessee.

The two new facilities are expected to be completed by next fall.
