Man arrested after police say he broke into spa twice

(WMC-TV) - A Germantown man was arrested after police said he repeatedly broke into Gould's Day Spa and Salon on Park and Ridgeway.

Coby Charlton, 36, is charged with breaking in twice this month, but only getting away once.

Rae Morgan owns the More Space Place two doors down from Gould's.

"Actually, it's quite shocking," said Morgan.  "You know, we have a guard.  Police are always going through the parking lot.  I've never felt uncomfortable."

According to police reports, Charlton broke through the glass doors on December 7.  Police said he left with a safe full of checks and $1,800 cash.

Police said Charlton then returned early Thursday morning, breaking through the glass doors again and causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Police said an alarm sounded as Charlton attempted to raid the Gould's corporate office upstairs.

No one at the salon was available for comment Friday.

Charlton was arrested after officers spotted his Honda Civic in the parking lot.  They said he admitted to committing the burglaries.

Charlton posted a $20,000 bond Friday.  He is due in court next Tuesday.
