Man charged with vehicular homicide, DUI in crash that killed 4

(WMC-TV) - A man was charged with four counts of vehicular homicide in a crash that killed four women on Christmas Eve.

In addition, the man who falsely identified himself as Lenard Robinson was charged with DUI, reckless driving, speeding and two counts of felony reckless endangerment.

He was driving a Chevy Silverado south on Raleigh-Millington Road when it hit a Chevy Impala driven by 47-year-old Tarla Fisher.

The crash caused the Impala to swerve into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Ford F-150 on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Fisher and three other passengers in the Impala, 44-year-old Shirley Watkins, 26-year-old Chrystal Hill, and 42-year-old Marjorie Tucker, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the F-150, James Reece and Luke McElravey, were transported to the MED.

Sunday, Reece was listed in critical condition.  McElravey was listed as stable.

Fisher and Watkins were sisters and Hill was their niece.  Tucker was a friend of the family.

A preliminary investigation revealed that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.  Only Fisher was wearing a seatbelt.

This investigation is ongoing.
