State Line Road repaving a 2-state issue

(AP) - Residents of an Olive Branch subdivision on the Mississippi-Tennessee line want a bumpy road repaved before someone gets hurt.

The Commercial Appeal reports that half of the section of State Line Road is in Mississippi; the other half is in Tennessee.

After the Lyon's Gate Homeowners Association requested repaving, city crews patched holes. The mayor then told his staff to report back with cost estimates for the repaving.

Repaving the road is not a simple matter, however, since road maintenance is split between two jurisdictions.

Olive Branch Mayor Sam Rikard said he hopes the city can get Shelby County government to work with Olive Branch for a complete resurfacing of the road.
