Injury could sideline Grizzlies Zach Randolph for 8 weeks

(AP) - Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph is expected to miss six to eight weeks after tearing a ligament in his right knee.

The 6-foot-9, 255-pound Randolph tore his right MCL in the first quarter of the Grizzlies 104-64 loss at Chicago on Sunday. Memphis announced the injury Wednesday, a day after an MRI revealed the injury.

Randolph, 29, led the Grizzlies in scoring through the first four games of the season with an average 14.8 points and had grabbed 7.5 rebounds per game.

An 11-year NBA veteran, Randolph was selected to the 2010-11 all-NBA third team last season after leading Memphis to the 2011 Western Conference semifinals and averaging 20.1 points and a career-high and franchise-record 12.2 rebounds during the regular season.
