Police say two suspects robbed man while he was pumping gas

(WMC-TV) - Memphis police are searching for two suspects believed to be in their late teens who struck at a Memphis gas station.

The suspects were caught on camera inside a Mapco convenience store minutes before robbing a customer outside around 8:15 a.m. Monday morning.

Police said the victim was pumping gas when the suspects demanded his money at gunpoint.

The Mapco is located at South Third and Brooks Road.

Robert Caldwell lives in the neighborhood and routinely pumps his gas at this Mapco location.

"I try to be pretty observant, just watch your surroundings and don't get too relaxed," said Caldwell.

Police said the suspects left the store in a burgundy Nissan Altima.  They may be responsible for other robberies in Memphis.

There is only a vague description of the suspects.  If you recognize them, call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
