Arkansas State arrives in Alabama for bowl game

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Members of the Arkansas State football team have arrived in Alabama, where they'll take on Northern Illinois Sunday at the Bowl.

The Red Wolves left Jonesboro Wednesday morning and stopped in Jackson, Miss., to hold a practice at Millsaps College before arriving at their hotel in Mobile.

Officials say the team will hold position meetings before practice at the University of South Alabama on Thursday. Players also will participate in a community service project at the USA Children's and Women's Hospital.

The game pits two conference champions and their quarterbacks against each other.

Quarterback Chandler Harnish of Northern Illinois (10-3) ranks seventh nationally in total offense and holds 20 school records, while Ryan Aplin of Arkansas State (10-2) is 11th.
