(WMC-TV) – The family of fugitive murder suspect Rico Fleming is in hiding after two acts of violence in a month's time and they both were possibly tied to him.

The latest incident happened over the weekend when the home of murder suspect Rico Fleming went up in flames in Moscow, TN. Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set.

It came weeks after shots were fired into the home and they don't believe the violence will end until Rico Fleming is off the streets.

Investigators believe the weekend fire that destroyed this home in rural Moscow was an act of arson and may be related to the fatal shooting for which one of the burned home's residents is wanted.

Fleming, 22, is currently on the TBI's Ten Most Wanted List as a result of his alleged role in the Christmas Day drive-by killing of 16-year-old Derica Patterson in Marshall County, MS.

"Obviously, if this is some type of retaliation, things appear to be escalating and we definitely want to put a stop to that before somebody gets hurt," said Inspector Ray Garcia, of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

The Fleming family hasn't been in the house since the incident two weeks ago and Fleming's mother is described as being beside herself. She's at an undisclosed location with her younger children, one of whom was injured when shots were fired into the very same home in early December.

"A young, 13-year-old male was inside the home and got shot," said Garcia. "He is okay, but we're not sure how all of this ties together at this point"

Fleming has an extensive criminal history and detectives fear others are in danger the longer he remains at large. Meanwhile, they've increased patrols in the area around the Fleming family's fire-ravaged house.

Rico Fleming is also known as Rico Poole and is known to frequent the Memphis area. Call 1-800-TBI-FIND or your local police with any information on where he might be.
