(WMC-TV) - An early Wednesday morning theft from a gun store has put more than a dozen stolen revolvers on the streets, according to the shop's owner.

The smash and grab robbery happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday the Gun Exchange Store at 6399 Goodman Road in Olive Branch.

Olive Branch police say it appears the crooks used a vehicle to smash their way into the business.

"They just drove a vehicle right through the front door and totally destroyed the front end of my business," said store owner Jeff Duncan.

Police say at least 16 revolvers were stolen during the crime.

With the front door smashed and display cases shattered, the Gun Exchange was still open for business Wednesday.

Duncan said he has been robbed two times prior at another business.

"There's no rhyme or reason for this to happen," he said.  "I'm actually thankful they didn't take some of the nicer guns, but they come in, they smash, grab what they can get, and they're out the door."

Duncan said although he has a surveillance system, that did not stop the thieves.

"Security, cellular backup, everything that you can have, but if someone wants to come in your business, they will," said Duncan.

Officer said they are still investigating the crime, but hope the surveillance video can help lead them to the thieves.
