(WMC-TV) - Pardoned Mississippi murderer Joseph Ozment has moved out of Mississippi and is planning a wedding.

Ozment left Mississippi for Wyoming with his fiance, LaChina Tillman, after outgoing Governor Haley Barbour granted the murderer a full pardon earlier this year.

Almost 20 years ago, Ozment shot Mary McAbee's brother, Ricky Montgomery, during a robbery at a DeSoto County store.

"It was one of the most shocking things I've heard, besides the night they called me and told me he has been murdered," said McAbee.

Action News 5 obtained Ozment's statement to police in 1992 where he said he shot Montgomery in the head so he could not identify him and his accomplices.

Ozment's attorneys said he got four college degrees while in prison and he will work to keep him out.

Ozment worked as a trusty in the governor's mansion.  He met Tillman through a friend in prison.  The couple has sent out an announcement for their planned wedding.

Mississippi investigators said Tillman works as an engineer for Northrup Grumman.  She had access to Ozment when he was a trusty at least 15 times.  She has now allegedly registered at a Dillard's bridal registry.

Not long after Action News 5 uncovered Ozment and Tillman's registry, it was allegedly taken down.

A hearing before the Mississippi Supreme Court concerning the pardons is scheduled for next week.
