No injuries in Memphis train derailment

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Roads are again open after a weekend train derailment in Memphis.

No one was hurt and there was no evidence of environmental contamination after several cars of a Norfolk Southern train jumped the tracks in East Memphis Sunday morning, according to The Commercial Appeal.

All of the cars were loaded with double-stacked freight containers, 1 of which toppled onto a city street.

There were 19 cars being pulled by a locomotive when the derailment occurred. None of the cars contained hazardous materials. A crossing signal was knocked down by the derailment.

All car traffic was again flowing Sunday night.
