(WMC-TV) - Memphis Police Officer Amanda Wakham found herself on the other side of the law when she showed up at Criminal Court for arraignment Monday.
The 11-year police veteran is charged with aggravated assault and vandalism after she allegedly beat up her boyfriend.
Around 4 a.m. Saturday, a supervisor with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office advised police officials that Wakham was in custody after reportedly getting into a fight with her boyfriend.
During her arraignment, the judge ordered Wakham to stay away from that boyfriend. She was told that she could not call or text him. Wakham was also ordered to not have any alcohol.
The judge also told the police veteran that she could not be in possession of any firearms, including her police service revolver.
Wakham declined to comment on her case after court.
Wakham, who has been relieved of duty without pay, will return to court on February 24.
