(WMC-TV) - A 37-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly ordered his pit-bull to chase a middle school student and then fired shots at the boy as he tried to hide.

Before the 15-year-old Woodstock Middle School student could make it to class Thursday morning he was running for his life through this neighborhood.

His alleged attacker 37 year old Christophe Gray.

The victim was waiting for the school bus when he was approached by the suspect who asked the kid if he was the person who had robbed him earlier.

The victim told the suspect he wasn't the person who had robbed him the day before, but the sheriff's office said Gray ordered his pit bull to attack the teen.

As the 15-year-old ran away, the suspect is also said to have shot at him. The boy wasn't injured and was able to get away by hiding behind a house.

"It's a bad neighborhood," said Richard, a Northaven resident. "This is one of the worst neighborhoods you could live in."

"It's sad that a grown adult would approach a child with so much hatred and hurt over something that was probably just petty," said a mother of three boys who didn't want to share her name.

He has been charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a handgun.
