(WMC-TV) - Olive Branch will again be host to a Law Fit challenge, but this summer it will on the national level for the very first time.

The 11th annual challenge is expected to bring more competition and recognition for Mississippi law enforcement officers.

Agencies from all across the country will descend on Olive Branch to test their agility and strength that they use to keep you safe on the job.

On the course they'll have to handcuff a suspect, drag a victim, climb through windows and other obstacles.

It's expected to be a big boost for Olive Branch and the state when the competition kicks off this summer.

Thomas Tuggle, Assistant Director of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer's Training Academy hopes it will shed more positive light on the state.

"Every list that you see, Mississippi is at the bottom of it. Every list we should be at the top and we're at the bottom and every list we should be at the bottom we're at the top. This is an opportunity for us to erase all that negative," Tuggle said.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol team is a four time national champion and they'll look to defend their title on the home turf this year at the facilities at Olive Branch High School.

Olive Branch Police Chief Don Gammage expects to send four teams of his own to the event which lasts from June 14th to June 16th.
