LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The future of Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe's proposed $4.7 billion budget for the coming year is up in the air as Republicans are calling for $21 million in spending cuts.

The House is scheduled to vote on a resolution on Thursday that would allow the budget bill to be introduced. The House delayed a vote on the measure on Wednesday.

Republicans have detailed $21 million in cuts to 11 agencies that they'd like to see in Beebe's budget and have said the vote on the resolution should wait until he has had a chance to review those proposals.

Republicans are a minority in the state Legislature, but have enough seats to block the budget bill from being introduced. The resolution requires 67 votes in the House.
