Competency of Ark man accused in deaths questioned

FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP) - A man accused in the December deaths of his estranged wife and another man has been arrested, but he may not be mentally competent.

Forrest City police said Wednesday Rolando Westbrook was arraigned in St. Francis County for Larry Stacy's death and in Lee County for Tracey Westbrook's killing. Officers say Westbrook is recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

A psychological examination was ordered for him and officials are awaiting housing for Westbrook at a state facility. He's staying with relatives.

Stacy was found Dec. 21. Witnesses identified a car spotted at his residence and investigators traced it to Tracey Westbrook's house.

A standoff with Rolando Westbrook ensued, then officers entered the house and found him and his dead wife.

A listing for Westbrook couldn't be found.
