(WMC-TV) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Covington Police Department are investigating the city's first homicide of the year and the case has a close connection to 2010's Henning post office murders.

Known throughout Covington as "Bull," the family of 29-year-old Orlando Cobbins said they'll miss his laugh the most.

"He's a barber. He's a daddy, a brother, a son, a cousin," said Cobbins' sister, Ayanna Dowell, "he is a comedian."

"He got along with everybody. A lot of people around here loved him. He was considered one of the best barbers in Covington" said Dominique Mitchell, Cobbins' cousin.

Mitchell said around 11 o'clock Monday night she heard her cousin back his car into her driveway.

"A few moments later I heard a gunshot," she said.

She later found Cobbins slumped over in her garage.

"I didn't know it was a gunshot until the police confirmed that he had a gunshot to his chest,' she said.

Investigators weren't willing to speak on camera, but said they are actively interviewing witnesses.

Tuesday, as family gathered at the home of Cobbins' mother, many said his murder exposes fresh wounds.

Their cousin, 33-year-old Paula Robinson, was killed in October 2010 during an attempted robbery inside the Henning post office.

In 2011, Chastain Montgomery was charged in Robinson's murder and family members said they also want swift justice for Cobbins.

"We desperately need this to be solved so we can have closure," Mitchell said.
