Tonight's Pay It Forward segment starts out along Avenue A in the industrial district of the city. We set up near a vacant warehouse searching for a playmaker to help someone in need. Within minutes, we are approached by Mary Hearon of Lubbock.
Mary has not seen Pay It Forward before, but after we explained how it works, it doesn't take her long to think of someone who could use $300.
Mary has a next door neighbor who always watches her back. His name is Donald Ross. Donald recently suffered from kidney failure and is on dialysis. Mary surprised Donald on his doorstep. Donald is overcome with emotion as Mary dishes out $300 to help out with medical expenses.
Donald mentioned that the money will come in handy and may help out with his medical bills and equipment. When asked what it felt like to help someone in need, Mary simply replied, "It just makes me want to cry. It feels good inside."
