(WMC-TV) - Two Mississippi men are in federal custody after they allegedly robbed a bank and were captured inside an East Memphis Target store.

Federal investigators say the two suspects confessed after they were tackled inside the Target.

Francis Ewing and James England are charged with robbing the Suntrust Bank inside the Kroger store at Poplar and Kirby.

Police say it happened around 3:30 Friday afternoon when one of the suspects walked in, demanded money from a teller, then left in a getaway car driven by a second suspect.

An observant witness called police when they spotted the suspects' vehicle at the Target.

Witnesses say up to eight officers tackled the two men in the Starbucks area up front.

Right now, there is no information if the suspects are connected to other recent bank robberies.
