(WMC-TV) – The Madison County Sheriff's Office has captured a convicted meth maker who didn't return to jail after attending his mother's funeral.

Joe Frank Watkins was released from the county jail Monday morning. He was supposed to return to the jail later that night, but the 37-year-old never showed up.

He was finally found just after 9 p.m. Wednesday and returned to jail.

Investigators gave Watkins a drug test and say he tested positive for marijuana, methamphetamines, alcohol and barbiturates.

Watkins was originally convicted for manufacturing methamphetamine, but was serving a 180 day sentence for violation of community corrections when he skipped out. He's now facing an additional violation of community corrections charge.
