Indictments, retirements and a chance of rain

(WMC-TV) – It's already been a busy day in the Mid-South.

Memphis Mayor A C Wharton announced three workers at the city's troubled animal shelter have been indicted for cruelty to animals.

In political news, longtime Tennessee state Rep. Jimmy Naifeh announced he plans to retire from the General Assembly.

Meanwhile, there's bad economic news for Jonesboro. A plant closure could cost the city 600 jobs.

And parts of the Mid-South could see quite a bit of rain today.

But will we see any severe weather?

Ron Childers will have the answer today on Action News 5 at Noon. If you just can't wait until then, click here to check out his morning forecast on WMCTV.com.
