(WMC-TV) – One woman is hospitalized at the Med and another was released from the hospital but whisked away to jail after deputies say she shot her girlfriend right in front of them.

DeLissa Jordan is locked up at 201 Poplar on a $500,000 bond.

Saturday night, Jordan was at her girlfriend's Cordova home when an argument spurred a 911 call.

The girlfriend met sheriff's deputies at the front door and explained that Jordan refused to leave.

"Next thing you know from a little further back in the house, the suspect fired several shots in the direction of her lover," said Chip Washington, of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. "(She) aimed in the direction of our deputies, and of course at that point, game on."

Both deputies shot back as one dragged the girlfriend to safety in a hail of gunfire.

The girlfriend was hit three times in her arms and legs. Jordan was actually hit once in her thigh. Both women were taken to the Med but both are expected to be okay.

The deputies did not get hurt and investigators say it's a blessing everyone is alive.

"When you step into a domestic violence situation, you never know what you're going to be faced with because all of this is based on emotion," Washington aid.

Jordan does not have a criminal history or any complaints from her neighbors.

"I never knew anything like that about her because she was always a real, nice, sweet person," said her neighbor Dorothy Hilliard.

Bond was originally set at $1 million, but a judge cut it in half Monday morning.

Jordan returns to court in 10 days.
