Memphis woman arrested after lying about relationship with officer

(WMC-TV) - Memphis police said a woman who claimed she had a relationship with an officer for over a year was lying.

Police said Tiffany Callicutt made up a story about a Memphis police officer who stopped her because both of her tail lights in her Escalade were broken.

The officer said when he tried to pull Callicutt over at Mendenhall and Winchester last month, she became irate and drove on top of a curb onto the grass.

The officer said Callicutt started yelling at him when he walked up to the car and refused to sign the ticket.

Police said Callicutt caused such a ruckus, a crowd gathered to watch.  She was charged with disorderly conduct, driving without a license, and resisting official detention.

Wednesday, Callicutt walked into the domestic violence office at the Criminal Justice Center and said she had a relationship for a year with the officer who made the traffic stop.  She said they were engaged at one point.

Callicutt said the officer bought her a car and rented her an apartment.  She said he also harassed her, her mother, and her grandmother.

After talking with Callicutt's relatives, police came to the conclusion that she was lying.

The officer denied a relationship with Callicutt.  Investigators said he story changed frequently.

Callicutt was arrested and charged with filing a false report.
