JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Farmers from six states are to testify before a House committee meeting in northeast Arkansas on the drafting of legislation to help the agriculture community.

The House Agriculture Committee was scheduled to hold a field hearing Friday morning at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro on the drafting of the federal farm bill.

U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford's office says two panels of 10 farmers from Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama are expected to testify before the committee.

Crawford's office said the hearing will include Republican Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas from Oklahoma. Crawford is a freshman Republican representing eastern Arkansas.
