MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Rev. Jesse Jackson is visiting Whitehaven High School in Memphis on Monday to lead a non-partisan voter education and registration rally.

The civil rights leader will be encouraging students to become registered voters when they turn 18 years old and inspire them to reach their highest potential.

The visit to Tennessee is part of a nationwide tour of historically black colleges and universities to encourage young people to register to vote. The visit also comes during the week of the anniversary of the assassination of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was killed on April 4, 1968 in Memphis.
